Born and raised in Queens, NY, and now proudly residing in Nassau County, Monica Martins brings over three decades of industry expertise to Colstan & Associates. She began her insurance career in 1991 and has held her Broker’s License since 1994, building a dynamic background across both the agency and carrier sides, including ten influential years with Zurich Small Business.

Monica has extensive experience in commercial lines, serving in account executive, marketing, and sales roles across new business and renewals. She leads with a philosophy grounded in authenticity and connection: you can’t build meaningful relationships if you’re not willing to listen. As a true people person and thoughtful communicator, Monica is known for helping clients feel supported, understood, and fully informed about their insurance decisions.

Outside of her professional work, Monica is a proud mom to three wonderful daughters, ages 23, 21, and 19, and the not-so-proud owner of two cats who keep the household lively.

• Samantha, her oldest, is a nanny and a childhood education student at Adelphi University.
• Sydney is studying mathematics and plans to become a high school teacher.
• Sarah, the youngest, is a successful hairdresser in Syosset specializing in color and extensions.

Monica also spent 11 unforgettable years as a cheer mom and is thrilled to see one of her daughters earn a cheer scholarship and serve as captain of the team at Coastal Carolina University—Go Chants!

In her free time, Monica enjoys attending concerts, savoring great food and drinks, spending time with family and friends, and experiencing all four seasons. She is also an avid reader and loves getting lost in a good book. Stephen King is her all-time favorite author.
